기쁘다 구주 오셨네 Joy to the World
유명한 캐롤 '기쁘다 구주 오셨네' ( Joy to the World ) 의 가사는 1719년 영국인 Issac Watts ( 1674-1748 )가 썼다. '기쁘다 구주 오셨네' ( Joy to the World ) 는 본래 성경 시편 98 장에 바탕을 두고 쓴 시이다.
작사가 Isaac Watts 는 Edinburgh 대학에서 신학박사 학위를 받았고, 수많은 찬송가와 캐롤을 썼습니다. 캐롤의 곡은 작곡가 George Frederick Handel (1685-1759)이 작곡한 것이다
